What's New in FCSS?

2010 FCSS Calendars

The FCSSAA Board is calling for photos for the 2010 FCSS “Power of Prevention” calendar.  Yup, it may seem early to be looking for photos for a 2010 calendar, but the Board wants to give you plenty of opportunity to be a shutter bug!

We invite you to send us photos that depict the awesome work of FCSS in the community.  All entries will be reviewed by the FCSSAA Communication & Marketing Committee in September, to select 12 for the calendar.

Details about the “Power of Prevention” photo contest are provided in the entry package.  All entries must be received at the FCSSAA office no later than September 11, 2009.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the FCSSAA office at 780-415-4791 or by e-mail at fcssaa-admin@telus.net.

Community Spirit Program

On April 30, 2008, Premier Stelmach and Minister Blackett launched the new Community Spirit Program to benefit the non-profit/voluntary sector.  This program has two components – the enhanced charitable tax credit and the new donation grant program.

The non-profit/voluntary sector has expressed considerable interest in this program and applications are coming in every day.  However, based on feedback, Minister Blackett has extended the application deadline date for the donation grant program from October 1 to December 31.  The new application deadline date will also apply to future years.

Organizations can visit the program’s website for additional information by linking to www.communityspiritprogram.ca.
