GREG PRATT - Lifetime Achievement Award
Barons-Eureka-Warner FCSS
Greg recently retired after 31 years of service to Barons-Eureka-
Warner FCSS. He has been very involved with all aspects of
FCSS throughout his career, including Director’s Network
representative on the FCSSAA Board. Greg brought the Roots
of Empathy program into Alberta and established 50 classrooms
in the Barons-Eureka-Warner area in the first year. As a liaison
with Roots of Empathy, he assisted in establishing funding for
the program in other areas of the province. Greg was
responsible for authoring a model for prevention and many of
the concepts identified in the original “From Research to
Outcomes” report were incorporated in the Parent Link Centre
Initiative.
Throughout much of his time with Barons-Eureka-Warner FCSS
Greg also worked with and for the local health Region. This
“dual role” gave him an incredibly valuable insight into the ways
that the two sectors could work effectively together. Greg has been an innovator of programs for
families and children. He has taken the approach that the early years set the stage for later
health and development. And, of course, we all know this is truly starting to be recognized by
many others.
Greg is highly regarded by those who have had the pleasure of working with him - we offer Greg
the warmest congratulations on his retirement - we hope he continues to find ways to work
within his community to make it a safe, secure place for people of all ages.

ASHLEE FATH - Award of Merit
Vulcan and District FCSS
Ashlee is the Children and Youth Worker for Vulcan FCSS. Her
willingness to work hard to make her community a better place
for all residents has made her job look effortless. She is always
the first to offer her services for community events, whether it is
Moonlight Madness, Spock Days, First Night or Fall Fair. Her
work at FCSS has assisted many young people to make better
choices.
Ashlee runs the local Youth Centre, and works to involve Vulcan
youth in the Random Acts of Kindness Program, to volunteer
and to participate in the Youth Centre Council. Ashlee’s
intergenerational efforts have produced ongoing connections
between youth and seniors in the Vulcan community. She is
always looking for programs and speakers to bring in to discuss
social issues that affect youth, and to help them improve their
decision-making and social skills.
Ashlee is involved in a number of sweeping changes designed to reverse the academic decline
as well as a consistent decline in enrollment. FCSS has been responsible for a number of other

DALE MORRICAL - Award of Merit
Viking-Beaver FCSS
Dale is a long standing member of the Viking-Beaver FCSS
Board, as the Town of Viking member at large since 1992 and
as Chairperson in 1995. Dale is a constant champion of Viking-
Beaver FCSS and its staff. He feels very strongly that it is his
responsibility to demonstrate leadership when tough decisions
need to be made and communicated to others.

Dale is one of those busy people. In addition to volunteering on
the FCSS Board and with the Lions Club, he volunteers with the
Volunteer Income Tax Program, the Viking Alliance Church, the
Viking Handi-Van Society, and even finds time to review the
financial records for the Viking Station Guild and the Viking
Senior’s Association.
Dale is a leader in his local area and has worked hard to make Viking a viable and vibrant
community. He is a tireless volunteer - whether in a formal position with an organization, or
